The State Water Resources Control Board is continuously accepting applications for its Proposition 40 Clean Beaches Initiative Grant Program.

The State Water Board has posted final Guidelines for its $143 million 2005-06 Consolidated Grants Program. The Board will consider adopting the Guidelines in January 2006 and it anticipates soliciting concept proposals in mid-January 2006. The Consolidated Grants include $43 million for coastal nonpoint source control projects, including a $10 million set aside for projects that meet mutual priorities of the State Water Board and the Ocean Protection Council.

The State Water Resources Control Board is seeking public input for the Proposition 84 Clean Beaches Areas of Special Biological Significance (CBASBS) Grants Program. 

Proposition 84 provides grants for local public agencies to assist those agencies in complying with the discharge prohibition into Areas of Special Biological Significance contained in the California Ocean Plan. A total of approximately $35 million will be made available and will be administered by the State Water Board's Division of Financial Assistance. The Department of Conservation is preparing to release a new request for proposal (RFP) for another round of Watershed Coordinator Grants and it is seeking input and comments on the previous (2004) RFP to help it create an improved 2007 version.
