Our Mission

• Advocate for coastal interests in Sacramento.

• Support polices and programs which promote the preservation, protection, and restoration of California's coastline.

• Spread awareness of the importance of well maintained beaches to State and local economies, habitats, and quality of life.

• Serve as a liaison with regional shoreline agencies such as SANDAG, the L.A. County Beach Task Force, and BEACON. · Work with advocacy and technical organizations, such as California Shore and Beach Preservation Association, American Coastal Coalition, and the Surfrider Foundation.

More than 85% of California's shoreline is actively eroding.

Erosion is a natural process which has been unnaturally accelerated by decreased sand supply due to modifications to the shoreline coupled with periods of storm activity.
Beach renourishment is an effective way to reverse the erosion of California's beaches. California's renowned beaches such as Santa Monica, Coronado, Mission Beach, Newport and Huntington Beach are artificially nourished beaches! The Public Beach Restoration Act will fund a proactive solution to many of California's beach erosion problems.
