Co-sponsors: CalCoast, Southern California Wetlands Recovery Project, and the Southern Steelhead Coalition.

The program will include the unveiling of a new state/federal collaboration - CA Resources Secretary Mary Nichols and General Peter Madsen of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will describe the development of a Master Plan to guide approaches to sediment management to address beach erosion, wetland rehabilitation, flood control, and habitat restoration. This exciting new development is the direct result of a workgroup established by the Resources Agency and the Corps of Engineers to develop regional solutions to these issues. The program will also feature a panel of local elected officials discussing their key concerns about beaches, wetlands, and watersheds with a panel of state legislators responding.
